Morning Media Menu With HLN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell

mornmm.gifToday on the Menu we’re joined by HLN anchor Jane Velez-Mitchell. Velez-Mitchell’s “Issues,” which launched last year as a replacement for Glenn Beck has since brought in record ratings for HLN — significantly higher than its predecessor. Just this week HLN announced it would expand the show to repeat over the weekend.

velez_3-12.jpgWhat is “Issues,” you ask? “We take the watercooler issues of the day, the ones that everybody is talking about, and we analyze them from a unique perspective,” Velez-Mitchell says.

Velez-Mitchell also spoke about the importance of highlighting issues like dating violence — brought about by the recent Rihanna/Chris Brown debacle. And describes the Octo-mom phenom thus: “It’s a reality show except it’s not just on one network it’s on every network. And there are twists and turns every day,” she said.
