MPA Cancels Annual AMC Conference
In a move they say is unrelated to news of its decreasing membership the MPA has just announced it is canceling its annual American Magazine Conference, scheduled to take place in Boca Raton, Fla., in October.
According to Mediaweek the lobbying organization will replace the AMC “with an event in New York focused on innovation,” though no date has yet been set. “This is just in response to the difficult economic climate,” a rep for MPA told MW. “Members are going to be reluctant to get in planes and we didn’t feel like having a big, festive conference was aligned with the mood of the times.”
