New ‘Bond’ Not Shaken Or Stirred

The new James Bond flick, “Quantam of Solace,” is not exactly bowling the critics overrQuantumofSolace.jpg. After “Casino Royale” introduced Daniel Craig as the new, suave, stunningly spectacular Bond, his follow-up is leaving the critics cold.

Variety’s Derek Elley sums it up nicely: “Played with a cold, mechanical efficiency that recalls the ‘Bourne’ movies, with almost no downtime or emotional hooks, ‘Quantum’ will find some solace in beefy initial returns but looks unlikely to find a royale spot in Bond history or fans’ hearts.”

Directed by Marc Forster, the film is still expected to blaze the box office. Perhaps not with the same power as the last one.

This Bond fan, however, will most assuredly go.
