Adam Wiener is the new chief operating officer at driverTV, a producer and distributor of automobile-related video content. According to a March 17th article in The Wall Street Journal, NBC Universal purchased 35 percent of the company for a reported $6 million.

New York, NY (March 25, 2008) — Adam Wiener has been named to the new position of Chief Operating Officer at driverTV, a leading producer and distributor of automobile-related video content for consumers (http://www.drivertv.com), it was announced today by company Founder and CEO Jan Renner.

NBC Universal recently acquired a 35 percent stake in driverTV. NBCU and driverTV will partner to provide high quality video content aimed at in-market car buyers and auto enthusiasts to sites across the web and VOD cable outlets.

Wiener, formerly with NBCU's iVillage, will leverage his experience with overall web site management, online media monetization, partnership building, and television production to create, implement and execute marketing and online distribution plans.

"DriverTV's high quality video content presents a unique platform for growth," Wiener says. "By forging multiple distribution channels DriverTV will be at the center of expanding online marketing efforts within the automotive category."

Wiener has a distinguished career in the broadcast and interactive arenas. As Senior Vice President of iVillage Media he led strategic partnership negotiations. Wiener joined iVillage when it acquired Healthology, the largest online distributor of proprietary health-related video content, where he was General Manager.

For several years, Wiener held top interactive and broadcast television positions at CBS News, including Executive Producer at CBSNews.com, and Senior Producer on the daily news program "Up To The Minute."
