How To Castrowatch NY's Dailies
New York Daily News:A sign hanging in Miami's Little Havana Tuesday said it all: "Fidel don't resign," it read in Spanish. "Just die already." New York Post: "The ailing 81-year-old communist said yesterday he would not seek a new rubber-stamped term when Cuba's parliament meets on Sunday." New York Sun: "The news, first published overnight on the Web site of the Cuban ruling party's organ, Granma, was immediately carried by much of the world press, although many veteran Cuba watchers described it as a well-choreographed maneuver designed to keep Mr. Castro's brand of communist rule intact." New York Times: "Fidel Castro stepped down Tuesday morning as the president of Cuba after a long illness. The announcement was made in a letter to the nation written by Mr. Castro and published early Tuesday morning on the Web site of Granma, the official publication of the Cuban Communist Party."
