OC Register Reporter Claims He Was Plagiarized By ESPN Anchor

OC Register sports reporter Kevin Ding has written a column accusing ESPNEWS anchor Will Selva of reading from script several paragraphs of a recent column on air, without attribution.

Here are the lines in question:

Christmas isn’t over yet, Lakers fans.

The big game, it turns out, will be the game after the supposed Game of the Year.

In San Antonio on Tuesday night, the Lakers will be out to give themselves and their fans the much-needed gift of hope.

Sports by Brooks checked the transcripts, and, indeed, Selva read Ding’s lines word for word.

Ding says he has contacted ESPNews Senior Coordinating Producer Mark Preisler to get a comment, but no subsequent blog items have been posted. Stay tuned.
