Jossip reports that Atlanta-based Paste Magazine has just tripled its subscriber base from 15,000 to 50,000, which will give them a rate base of minimum 120,000. Why should we care here in NYC? Because Paste did it by taking over the subscription list of the now-defunct Tracks, which folded in April when founders John Rollins and Alan Light of Vibe/Spin Ventures ran out of cash. Now, thanks to that little takeover, Paste has leapfrogged into a new league.

The current issue features a, er, feature on former Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus, which is a tad ironic owing to an earlier kerfuffle when Paste dinged an ad from Matador Records for Malkmus's new album, "Face The Truth," as being too racy.
