Oprah: Acting on Broadway ‘Is Really Going to Happen’

Oprah Winfrey is coming for us, New Yorkers. She tells The Chicago Tribune that she is 100 percent interested in acting in a Broadway show, and that the plan is already set in motion:

I have a stack of plays in my bag right now that I am reading. And just this past weekend, I was in New York meeting with producers. We were just talking about what would be the best route to take. But yes, this is really going to happen.

FishbowlNY would love to tell you about how Winfrey can’t be stopped, that her fans are rabid and will make the theater district even more insane than usual. But we won’t.

Do you know why? Because when people badmouth Oprah, people disappear. So instead we’ll just say that this is great news and slowly, gently, back away from our computer.
