Oprah to Host Tony Awards?

Oprah‘s never starred on Broadway, but she’s a key producer of The Color Purple and could win a Tony for that role if the stage adaptation of the movie that earned her an Oscar nomination wins best musical. The Tonys are the lowest-rated of the top showbiz awardcasts. They could use a boost like Oprah and she’s such a passionate booster of Broadway this year that she may agree to perform on stage at Radio City Music Hall. Rumor has it that Tony chiefs are quietly courting her behind the scenes.
Does this mean she’ll use the occasion to berate playwrights who’ve wronged her, too?
