Page Six Scoops Gawker On Times Slur

pagesix_072307.jpgThe New York Times masthead editor who was mentioned in a blind Gawker item after allegedly using a homophobic slur at an office party and causing a paper-wide damage control initative?

According to Page Six‘s scoop: Michele McNally, the Times‘ director of photography.

Apart from the twist of the slur allegedly being used by a woman, there’s also the fact that in her job, she oversees a large gay/lesbian contingent among the paper’s freelancers. Just a bit awkward. Well, that and the whole New York Times “gay mafia” thing with high-profile gay figures at the paper including Richard Berke, Frank Bruni, Adam Nagourney, Stuart Elliot and Ben Brantley.
