Clearly, New York media types are secretly jonesing to kick up their heels around a lamppost and wear tight-fitting gold lamé leotards. First Maureen Dowd, that minx, takes a line from Damn Yankees' vixenish Lola in her chart-topping column this week (though Depends are far less sexy than seducing hapless rookie ball players). Then the NY Observer quotes the Sondheimeriffic Larry King Jr. singing a bastardized version of "Matchmaker" from Fiddler on the Roof: "Ombudsman, ombudsman/Hear my complaint/Please rid the paper/Of bias and taint" (not bloody likely anytime soon thanks to you, Feuer). Okay, that's it so far, unless we can somehow find a photo of David Remnick in a tight-fitting gold lamé leotard. To that end, please send your barely-relevant media showtune references to us at FISHBOWL@mediabistro.com. No, seriously, send them.
