Philly News Anchor’s Wild, Cop-Attacking Night

1217lane.JPGA scandal-plagued Philly newscaster who was visiting her New York boyfriend punched out an undercover cop in the Meatpacking District last night. Alycia Lane, evening anchor for CBS’ WKYW, called the undercover cop a “dyke bitch” and allegedly punched her in the face.

Ah hell, noone can beat the Post when it comes to (sorry) punchily describing celebrity shame. So let’s look at their take (which also made the front cover) on what happened after Lane and her boyfriend cursed out some cops in an undercover taxi who were slow-driving while looking for a suspect:

When apparently told the occupants were officers looking for a perp, he yelled, “I don’t care if you’re a cop! Drive faster!” the sources said. The three officers inside, two men and a woman, got out and began questioning Booker, now a deejay with Q102 in Philadelphia, the sources said. The petite, twice-divorced Lane, 35, then also got out of the cab and began snapping photos, getting in the face of a male cop doing most of the grilling, the sources said. The female cop told the anchor, “You can take pictures, but you have to step back,” the sources said. Lane went ballistic, shouting that she was a TV reporter and declaring, “I don’t care that you’re a cop – you dyke bitch!” the sources said. Then she allegedly walloped the officer in the face.

Lane is now facing felony charges of assaulting a police officer. She pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. KYW says they are “very concerned for Alycia.”
