Modern Luxury Media, publisher of Angeleno magazine and 25 other lifestyle magazine titles, is on the market. It may not be the best time for a stable of publications that focus largely on luxury living to be looking for a buyer, but CEO William Cobert is optimistic. From the New York Post:
In his e-mail to employees, Cobert said he believes the long dormant ad market is finally coming back to life, and cited a 15 percent jump in ad revenue booked for May issues as the evidence. Overall, Modern Luxury said it has booked 2,175 advertisers for 2010.
Even though it’s often difficult to tell the advertisements from the editorial copy, and it’s full of things we can’t afford, we hope Angeleno makes it through the transition unscathed. What else would we read in our dentist’s waiting room?
