Something bad is going on at CBS Radio. Good ol' Columbia Broadcasting System has laid off 5% of their workforce. Here in New York, several program directors have been let go:
High profile layoffs have taken place in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Charlotte, Sacramento and other markets with PDs and on-air talent getting the axe.
Our guess would be that more than a few of these folks are headed to rival Emmis once their non-competes run out... Oddly enough, many of them worked for Emmis before.
Radio's funny that way.
