Reporter Throws Shoes at President Bush
We snagged this from FishbowlDC. It’s video of President Bush‘s news conference in Baghdad earlier this morning (the President made a surprise farewell trip this weekend) during which an Iraqi reporter hurls his shoes at the President! Apparently this is a very insulting gesture in Arabic countries. The reporter misses Bush…both times — the President has quick reflexes! — but it left us wondering: shouldn’t the Secret Service been quicker to react? We mean, one shoe, sure, but both? Also, will this become a trend over the next six weeks do you think? As in don’t let the shoe hit you on the way out.
