Metta World Peace Begins in Los Angeles

You might have heard this before, but LA has a reputation as a place where people can reinvent themselves. Norma Rae became Marilyn. Now, Ron Artest is poised to become Metta World Peace. Smart move, considering his past.

Artest has always wanted to be a celebrity, arguably even before he came to LA by joining the Lakers a couple of years ago. But his reputation as an angry, crazy person, stemming from brawl with fans back in his days with the Indiana Pacers, always held him back. With his wife set to star on VH1′s Basketball Wives, Artest was about to finally get the screen time he was looking for. So if Artest is a problem, why not just get rid of him? Enter Metta World Peace.

We like it.
