Rupe Street Journal Update: Bancroft Meeting ‘Productive’

Continuing our obsessive coverage of Dow Jones, News Corp., the Wall Street Journal, Rupert Murdoch, the Bancrofts and the kitchen sink: Peter Waldman, a 22-year veteran WSJ correspondent, is jumping ship to Portfolio. The Bancroft family’s meeting in Boston yesterday to discuss the sale of Dow Jones was “not acrimonious at all.” As a result, the Bancrofts are widely expected to sell this week. If not, the Washington Post argues, “it could cripple Dow Jones.” But there are dissenting voices: The Guardian argues that a final decision might not be made until next week. As for the poor Wall Street Journal, whose newsroom isn’t too happy about a Murdochian takeover … well, they’re putting their faith in Jane MacElree.
