Russell Simmons Enlists Trump, Nas For Book Testimonials

Russell Simmons wears many (New Era-fitted?) hats: hip-hop mogul, clothing line creator, TV producer, U.N. goodwill ambassador, diamond industry fact-finder and a HuffPo blogger among them. Add inspirational book author to the ever-growing list.

On April 24, the so-called “Godfather of Hip-Hop”‘s Do You! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success hits the streets. According to a press release, the tome, co-written by Chris Morrow, Simmons’ speechwriter since 2003, “is a rare blend of business acumen, fierce spiritual faith and priceless advice.”

Featuring a forward by Donald Trump (“If there’s one person I believe can show you a path toward true success, it’s Russell Simmons.”) and back-cover quote courtesy of Nas (“This book is Russell’s truth.”), the Def Jam entrepreneur is wisely cashing in celebrity favors for pre-book hype.

Simmons embarks on a three-month cross-country book tour beginning April 24 — on Wall Street, naturally — in New York.
