San Diego Magazine Hires Food Writer Troy Johnson

Exciting news from our neighbors down south as San Diego Magazine announced the hiring of Troy Johnson as their new editor-at-large and dining critic.

The award-winning food writer and San Diego native will cover the local restaurant scene and sprinkle his humor in the magazine during the editing process.

Johnson spent four years at Riviera San Diego as a senior editor and food writer. He’s also the host of Craved on Food Network, providing viewers with a variety of 30-minute food biographies.

“Troy’s expert restaurant and food knowledge is a natural fit for the magazine and our digital platform,” said Jim Fitzpatrick, CEO & publisher of San Diego Magazine. “We are extremely excited to have him on board and we know that he will be a strong addition to our editorial team.”

Instead of giving you the standard press release statement for Johnson, we went straight to the source.

“This is the year I write about San Diego like a kid hopped up on Adderall,” Johnson told FishbowlLA.

For more of Johnson’s witty humor and how he landed a national TV show, check out my feature on him from earlier this month.
