Scholastic has named Tara Welty editor-in-chief of Instructor magazine. Welty was most recently the editor of Scholastic Art, where she oversaw a re-launch of its print and web versions.
“Tara has extraordinary gifts as an editor and educator. She made a profound contribution to arts education in re-launching Scholastic Art,” said Hugh Roome, president of Scholastic Consumer and Professional Publishing. “She brings to this important new assignment both the vision and skills which will sustain Instructor’sunique role in advising and inspiring K-12 teachers.”
