Sun Correction: Yoko Ono Not A Dog Eater

yoko_ono_060607.jpgToday’s most embarassing newspaper correction is from The Sun, which, as usual, shows the tabloid’s unique knack for headlines:

Our May 30 story headed “Uuurrgh! My Corgi kebab is a bit ruff” said that Yoko Ono was on a radio show and “tasted” dog meat which was being eaten by an animal rights activist. The report, which was filed to us by several leading press agencies was wholly wrong and Ms Ono did not appear or take part in the show. We sincerely apologise to Ms Ono for the offence and distress caused to her.

Both the Associated Press and TMZ reported Ono sampled dog meat on Resonance FM‘s Make Your Own Damn Music Show as well, but it must be said that TMZ’s correction is much less satisfying. For the record, the show listing for the May 29th episode does not include Ono as a guest.
