ladieshomej.jpgToday saw some additions to the Meredith Corp. title Ladies’ Home Journal, and for this living magazine it’s not all about a new sales or marketing staff.

Three employees — Julie Bain, Jessica Brown and Amanda Wolfe — were either shifted or promoted to a new editorial positions, while Beth Roehrig will be joining the staff as the new home editor. Previously, Roehrig worked at such titles as Country Living, Marie Claire and Redbook. Bain is returning to her position as health and consumer service director from features editor, and Brown will be taking over her post in features.

What’s interesting about the LHJ moves is that with the exception of Wolfe, who moved into the position of senior editor (and who previously was working with the magazine’s online brand), the rest of these women come from a purely editorial background, something we see less of every day in the melding of traditional print and new media. Meredith ended out 2009 with one of the best track records of the year, so let’s hope that they’re tried-and-true system continues in this decade.
