Rick Stengel’s D.C. Time Fetish Continues

Time magazine editor Richard Stengel loves Washington. How do we know this? Because he continues to poach editorial staffers from D.C. publications. The latest: Amy Sullivan, formerly an editor at Washington Monthly.

I’m pleased to announce that Amy Sullivan is joining TIME as Nation Editor. Amy will be based in New York and Washington and will oversee TIME’s political coverage. Amy has a master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School, and she is the author of the forthcoming book The Party Faithful, which explores the relationship between the Democratic party and religion. Amy is a former editor of the The Washington Monthy, where she covered topics ranging from the Valerie Plame case to the increasing role of Democratic political consultants. Amy is extremely knowledgeable about politics, and is a sharp thinker about how to translate what is happening in the political arena into great journalism. She will also set the new template for editors, as she will be editing political stories both for the magazine and — along with Dan Eisenberg — for TIME.com.
