POTUS Comes to LA, Gets Yelled at By Gays

President Barack Obama gave a speech at a fundraiser for Senator Barbara Boxer last night at the California Science Center. Members of Get Equal, the same folks who have been handcuffing themselves to the gate of the White House, heckled the president. We’ve seen those who want Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell repealed heckle former President Bill Clinton recently. This is not new. It’s that Obama appeared to be thrown off by it, that’s the notable thing.

It’s also weird to see a politician get screamed at in LA. We’re not really yellers here, we’re more ignorers.

LA Weekly’s Patrick Range McDonald wrote a very informative piece on last night.

Conservative Female Former CEO Descends on 2010 CA Election…Another One

Ousted HP exec, former John McCain adviser, Sarah Palin bus throw-her-undererCarly Fiorina has announced her candidacy for Senate. She’s seeking the GOP nomination to challenge Senator Barbra Boxer next year.

Fiorina now joins former eBay exec Meg Whitman in running for a political office. Whitman is seeking to slum it the governor’s mansion in Sacramento as a Republican.

We spot a trend. It really makes us wonder who is less popular right now – Republicans or CEOs. And if combining the two neutralizes or enhances the stigma. Will a state, home to the county with the highest unemployment rate in the US want to give golden parachute eligible women gigs on the government payroll?

We’re staying tuned.

The Politics of Bailing Out

This is a video of our Senator Barbra Boxer busting on John McCain‘s theatrics.

Is the credit crisis too close to home? The Columbia Journalism Review asks if Andrea Mitchell should be covering anything about the financial crisis. Hm? That would be like Maria Shriver covering the recall. Right? Or the budget crisis? Or her husband’s politics over the Cawleefornia and so on and so forth…

The best thing that John McCain ever did for Sarah Palin, besides setting the stage for her to be immortalized in corn, was to distract the nation from her interview with Katie Couric which aired this week, this is according to LAT‘s James Rainey. Yeah, we’re heartless jerks and we kind of felt sorry for her, what with Putin rearing his head. If she wasn’t running for something important we’d stop paying attention because it now seems cruel.
