Jeff Wellington has been named Vice President, Group Publisher for the Meredith Parents Network. Wellington succeeds Brian Kightlinger, who was promoted to Vice President, Corporate Sales of Meredith’s National Media Group on Monday. Wellington comes to Meredith from Scholastic, where he served as Publisher of Scholastic Parent & Child.

“Jeff’s background and experience with providing creative multi-platform integrated marketing  solutions for clients will be a huge asset as we continue to enhance and expand the Parents Network media footprint,” said Carey Witmer, Executive Vice President, President, Meredith Parents Network.

Wellington begins at Meredith on April 9 and will report to Carey Witmer, Executive Vice President, Publisher, The Parents Network.

Meredith Corporation has promoted Publisher Enedina Vega-Amaez to Vice President, Publisher of the Hispanic Ventures Group. Vega-Amaez has been with Meredith since 2006, and during her time as Publisher of Hispanic Ventures the publications Siempre Mujer, Ser Padres and Ser Padres Espera all raised their rate bases.

Carey Witmer, Executive Vice President of Meredith National Media Group, and President of Parents Network and Hispanic Ventures, said it was this ability to grow the brands that got Vega-Amaez the promotion.

“Enedina has done a terrific job expanding our position as the leading magazine publisher for Hispanic women,” said Witmer. “She continues to bring great insights and innovation to our strong portfolio of products serving the Hispanic marketplace.”

Meredith National Media Group has promoted and added to its leadership team. The four promotions include Gayle Butler to Executive Vice President & Group Creative Content Leader and Editor-in-Chief of Better Homes and Gardens, Jim Carr to Exectutive Vice President & President, Better Homes and Gardens, Carey Witmer to Executive Vice President & President, Parents Network, and Liz Schimel to Executive Vice President & Chief Digital Officer.

Dick Porter is also joining Meredith National Media Group as Executive Vice President & President, Media Sales. Porter was most recently CEO of the Publishing Group of America.

Butler, Carr, Witmer, Schimel and Porter will all report directly to Tom Harty, President of Meredith National Media Group.

Today, amidst news that nearly 200 people have lost their jobs at Condé Nast, there is good news over at Meredith Corp., a media company and magazine publisher that has been doing a lot of executive shuffling over the past few months.

Meredith announced today that Carey Witmer, Family Circle‘s publisher, has been promoted to the position of vice president/publisher at the magazine. Her advancement is no doubt due to the success Family Circle has seen in 2009, including four record-breaking issues this year as well as the biggest issue in the magazine’s 22-year history, Meredith said.

Witmer had worked as publisher for Family Circle since May 2008. She has also previously worked for Better Homes & Gardens, Country Home and Midwest Living.
