Pakistani Series Burka Avenger Claims Another U.S. Media Award

51f606f95d3be.JPGMaking Time‘s list of “The 11 Most Influential Fictional Characters of 2013” – alongside the likes of Ron Burgundy, Carlos Danger and Walter White – was sweet. But this week, following a 20-hour flight into New York, musician and producer Haroon got to accept something much sweeter on behalf of his 3D female-empowerment animated program: a Peabody award.

From a report on Pakistan Today:

“It’s an incredible honor,” said Haroon during an interview immediately after the Peabody presentation. “It’s a great feeling to be recognized.”

Paging Dr. Carlos Danger…

Miami New Times managing editor Tim Elfrink had a fun blog item yesterday as the newest Anthony Weiner sexting scandal and press conference were rolling down the news pike.

He revealed that there is a real guy in the Miami-Dade area called Carlos Danger, matching the chat pseudonym used by Weiner. This Carlos is a licensed psychiatrist:

The real Dr. Danger – who hopefully at least considered a career building giant, evil laser devices in a hollowed-out mountain somewhere before settling on psychiatry – operates a Coral Gables clinic called Innova Clinical Trials.
