Kalmbach Publishing is moving Discover magazine out of the city and relocating it to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where the company is headquartered. According to a press release, the move is designed to “better leverage all its publishing resources and integrate its science media properties.”

Pamela Weintraub will remain a consulting executive editor, based in New York.

Discover’s New York offices will close January 2013.
