During tomorrow’s telecast of Super Bowl XLVII, a pair of TV ads for Dunder Mifflin and Colgate-Palmolive will have something very cool in common. Both are byproducts of tongal.com, a crowd-sourcing video content development platform that connects users with name-brand competitive assignments.

The Marina del Rey-based company just raised $15 million and is allowing for all sorts of incredible individual success stories. Take Don Broida, the January “Tongaler of the Month.” Since joining Tongal last June, he has earned upwards of $90,000, which has allowed to spend more time at home with his eight-month-old son. One of his money-making projects, a spot for I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, is currently airing on national TV.

From Broida’s celebratory Q&A:

“I think that Tongal is a great avenue for unrepresented filmmakers and advertising creatives alike. The multi-phase structure draws on many people to produce the best ideas, pitches and videos, regardless of if you are an already established commercial director or a 15-year-old from Texas. It puts everyone on the same playing field with the same exposure to the companies, and lets talent speak for itself.”
