Motor Trend Names Detroit Editor

Scott Burgess has been named Detroit editor for Motor Trend magazine. Burgess has been covering the auto industry from Detroit for several years. His work has appeared in The Detroit News, AOL Autos and more.

“We are extremely excited to have Scott Burgess join Team Motor Trend,” said Motor Trend’s editor-in-chief, Edward Loh, in a statement. “He brings deep connections throughout the industry, years of experience in print and online journalism, and an entertaining, yet informative writing style that will prove invaluable as he covers the automotive epicenter that is Detroit.”

Burgess will report to Loh.

Motor Trend Promotes Several, Names New EIC

Edward Loh (pictured) has been promoted from Executive Editor — a position he held since last year — to Editor-in-Chief of Motor Trend magazine. Loh is succeeding Angus MacKenzie, who is now Chief Content Officer of Source Interlink Media, Motor Trend’s parent.

Chris Argentieri, President of Source Interlink Media, said of Loh, “His passion for all things automotive and his ability to communicate with an enthusiast audience is matched by his understanding of today’s multi-platform publishing environment. I am delighted that we are able to promote him to oversee one of our flagship brands.”

Ron Kiino, the magazine’s Editor-at-Large, will succeed Loh as Executive Editor. Motor Trend’s Senior Editor, Jonny Lieberman, has also been promoted to Senior Features Editor.

Motor Trend Names New Editor-in-Chief

Motor Trend‘s executive editor Edward Loh has just been named the mag’s new editor-in-chief. Loh has been with Motor Trend since 2007, when he was hired as a senior editor. Editor-at-large Ron Kiino will fill Loh’s role as executive editor.

Meanwhile, Motor Trend‘s former EIC Angus MacKenzie has been named chief content officer for parent company Source Interlink Media.
