Vin Scully is scaling back his work load this season and won’t call road games outside of California and Arizona, the team announced Saturday.

Scully, 84, will still announce more than 100 games this season on KCAL 9 and Prime Ticket.

Vin Scully Not Traveling to Spring Training

Whether it’s the beginning of the end or just some extra R&R, Los Angeles Dodgers play-by-play announcer Vin Scully won’t be traveling with the team to Arizona for Spring Training.

Televised games will be handled by the duos of Steve Lyons and Eric Collins and Rick Monday and Charley Steiner from Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.

In the past, Scully has called the weekend Spring Training games from Camelback Ranch, but instead will remain home in Los Angeles.

He will make his 2012 debut on April 3 when the Dodgers host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Dodger Stadium.
