Jillian Reynolds Apologizes to Dorothy Lucey

Get ready for at least one more day of tears on Fox 11′s Good Day LA.

On Thursday, Jillian Reynolds apologized to the departing Dorothy Lucey for all of the mean things she’s said about her during their 17-year run together.

The real winner in this segment was Steve Edwards, who received a Dorothy-Jillian sandwich hug.

I’m on to you, Steve.

Major Changes Coming for Good Day LA

Get ready for some new faces on Fox 11′s Good Day LA.

Dorothy Lucey is leaving the morning show and Jillian Reynolds is transitioning from a full time employee to a freelancer, according to Deadline.com:

I hear Lucey’s contract was not renewed and her last day will be later this week, possibly on Friday. Additionally, Lucey’s co-anchor Jillian Reynolds will switch from a full-time KTTV employee to freelance status. She will continue in her current duties on Good Morning LA but not always five days a week.

The show will hold on-air auditions in the coming weeks in hopes of finding a replacement for Lucey. This is a huge departure for KTTV as the Good Day LA co-anchor has worked alongside Reynolds and Steve Edwards since 1995.

Fox 11 anchor Liz Habib lived up to her ranking as the worst sports anchor in Los Angeles Thursday night, stumbling her way through the highlights from Game 3 of the Los Angeles Kings-Phoenix Coyotes series.

I can cut an anchor some slack for butchering names, but confusing the hockey puck for a ball? Really?

Fox 11 Says They Love Setting Up Dates

foxlog.jpgA Fox 11 spokesman took umbrage at FishbowlLA because we didn’t explain that its dating program has seen rampant success in Chicago, Detroit, Orlando and Boston.

More than 25,000 people sent resumes and photos into the Phoenix outlet. Maybe they’ll have the same response from L.A.

LAPD to Journos: “Double-Time, It’s Tussle Time”

Fox 11 news reporter Christina Gonzalez, a station’s camera operator and KPCC’s Patricia Nazario were shoved, struck by batons and laughed at by LAPD officers while covering the otherwise peaceful immigration march in MacArthur Park yesterday.

According to LA Observed, Nazario was “treated at a hospital for injuries to her hand, ribs, and ankles from a police baton.”
