Los Angeles Newspaper Group parent company Digital First Media announced today that LA Daily News, Torrance Daily Breeze and Long Beach Press-Telegram group publisher Jack Klunder will be replacing Fred Hamilton as LANG’s president.

“Jack Klunder has demonstrated outstanding executive leadership at the Los Angeles Daily News,” says Digital First CEO John Paton, “and with respect to his group publishing responsibilities in LANG. We are confident that he will lead the transformation of LANG’s newspaper operations to multi-platform news companies.”

Before his tenure at LANG, Klunder was vice president of circulation and distribution at the LA Times.

Hamilton, meanwhile, is departing “to pursue other interests.”

Publisher Leaves Los Angeles Daily News For San Diego Union-Tribune

The San Diego Union-Tribune announced today that Ed Moss has been hired as the newspaper’s president and publisher. Moss resigned as president and CEO of Los Angeles Newspaper Group and publisher of the Daily News to take the job with the Union-Tribune. We wish him luck with his severely depleted staff.

Fred Hamilton will be replacing Moss as president of LANG, and Liz Gaier has been named interim publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News.
