Filmmakers Gregg Rossen and Brian Sawyer made the funny YouTube video Heroes of the Writers Strike to cheer up Hollywood’s writers as they prepared for unemployment.

The video has enjoyed quite a bit of success online, something the writers tell FBLA only proves their point:

The reaction from our fellow writers has been very supportive. We intended the tone of Heroes of the Writers Strike to be very tongue in cheek and to provide an opportunity for our fellow writers (who have been under a great deal of stress) to laugh about the situation. Also we want to show the producers that we’re not without senses of humor about the situation, and that does not lessen our commitment to achieving our goals one bit.

But the fact remains, this video points directly to the fact that the Alliance’s claim of the internet as being an uncertain economic model is a ridiculous argument. Thousands of viewers have seen the short and the internet is a real and viable means of entertaining people.
