Reporter Survives Private Workout with ‘Mr. Muscle’

Gunnar Peterson (pictured), the one-time talent agency assistant who has remade himself as a personal trainer to top athletes and Hollywood A-listers, normally charges an amount that “is not unadjacent to $400” for a one-hour workout. But in the case of Guy Adams, west coast correspondent for London’s The Independent, he was happy to waive the fee.

Although Adams says he was sworn to secrecy with regards to the address of this sweaty journalistic assignment, it would seem likely many paparazzi already know where people like Halle Berry, Pete Sampras, and Angeline Jolie spend their non-house call personal trainer dollars. The second-floor Beverly Hills studio also boasts a hilarious signed picture from horse-riding client Sylvester Stallone. The inscription reads: “Never trust anything that can shit and run at the same time!” Writes Adams:

We pummel muscle groups I never knew existed. Peterson escorts me from familiar pieces of kit, such as exercise bikes, to completely alien ones, including a moving staircase which speeds up the faster I run, and a rotating platform designed to improve balance.

George Lopez Rocks the Razzies

Late night talk show host George Lopez may have been joking when he announced just before Christmas on Good Day LA that he was planning to run for mayor of Los Angeles. But he is most definitely a top write-in candidate for the 2010 Razzie Awards.

Per our friends at The Envelope, Lopez has been short-listed in the Worst Supporting Actor category for three different performances: Marmaduke, The Spy Next Door and Valentine’s Day (pictured). In fairness, Lopez provided only a voice for the bow-wow comic strip adaptation, but his other two Razzie choices are live action legit.

38857174-14120917.jpgNot Running: The guy who developed The Grove, Rick Caruso, has put an end to months of Internet whispering and said “he would not challenge incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in the city’s March election.”

43161219-02145804.jpgGraph O’The Day: From a Kim Murphy piece about Sarah Palin: “With her vice-presidential carriage turned back into a pumpkin, Palin faces a return to a state rife with hard feelings, a sagging budget and rising political uncertainty. Will its powerful veteran U.S. senator hold on to his job despite a felony corruption conviction? And what can Palin do about her home-grown political adversaries, some of them showing a gleeful appetite for torpedoing whatever national political ambitions the governor may harbor?”

36942334.jpgAnd Now Back To Important Stuff: With the election over, reporters can now go back to reporting the stuff we really care about… like how badly Halle Berry dressed herself before she got a stylist. Don’t know what to do with yourself now that Obama’s in the White House? Enjoy this picture book thingy by Elizabeth Snead.

DiCaprio, Clooney Team Up for WB
Warner Bros. has a super A-list project on its hands courtesy of a big-screen adaptation of Beau Willimon’s play called Farragut North, Var‘s Michael Fleming reports. Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to star in the pic with George Clooney “eyeing” the project to direct. Both actor’s respective production companies will produce. Var says the story centers on “a young communications director for a fast-rising presidential candidate. During the course of the campaign, the idealistic young man falls prey to the backstabbing and other dirty trickery of seasoned rivals.”

NBC Moving to Uni’s Headquarters
NBC will soon consummate its marriage with Universal by sharing the same address. Variety is reporting that after 50 years in Burbank, NBC will sell a large portion of its 34-acre property and move across the street from Universal Studios. On the move will be NBC’s West Coast news operations and local stations KNBC and KVEA in a new complex in 2011, the trade paper says. More news about the move here.

THR on Fire
THR’s Kirk Honeycutt takes a closer look at Susanne Bier’s Things We Lost in the Fire starring Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro. In his review he calls the pic “an unstable mix of a tearjerker, junkie-recovery story and odd-couple pairing.” Honeycutt was also turned on by the “refreshing change” that Bier brought to the project by casting a racially mixed cast in parts that were “undoubtedly” written as white.

Halle Berry Invites Crowd of Cheering Strangers Inside

halleberry003-tm.jpg

Steve Corfe, World of Wonder’s man on the scene, caught an earful from Halle Berry. Over-excited about getting her star on the Walk of Fame, Halle announced:

I cannot tell you how good it feels inside me right now. I wish you all could be inside me right now to know how it feels.

FBLA doesn’t need to know any more, thanks.
