Not only is the magazine battling its competitors for the best Teen Mom cover, but according to New York Post, it’s losing a reported $700,000 a week and missing its rate base. And, in the biggest shocker, that Hillary Duff wedding exclusive completely tanked on the newsstand.

Keith Kelly reports:

Richard Desmond, the chairman of the magazine’s London parent company, Northern + Shell, is said to be growing impatient with editor Mark Pasetsky. And it did not help that the five-year anniversary bash in Los Angeles last week did not exactly attract an A-list crowd. Desmond, who flew in from London, had expected to rub elbows with the beautiful people.”

Prevention Expands Sales Team

prevention.jpegPrevention magazine is doing what many print publications are doing — expanding its sales team.

Today, the health and wellness publication announced the appointment of Estee Cross as an account director in New York and Hillary Duff as account manager in Chicago.

Cross, a former franchise sales director and beauty director at Health magazine, will now be overseeing Prevention‘s food and packaged goods, DTC, retail and financial categories, while Duff, a former associate media director at Starcom Worldwide’s Procter & Gamble Print AOR division, will be overseeing print and digital sales.

Prior to Health, Cross worked at Fitness, Marie Claire, House & Garden and Victoria magazines. Duff previously worked for News Corp.‘s News America Marketing division and the Tsunami Foundation.
