Wald Leaves KTLA/Sullivan Out at Weekly/Thompson Pulled from L & W

Jeff Wald, news director of KTLA for the last 15 years, is leaving to take care of his family. Wald’s wife died last winter. No replacement has been named.

Kate Sullivan, music writer at LA Weekly, has been replaced by Randall Roberts, a ex-New Times guy from St. Louis. Tabloid Baby hopes she’ll invite everyone to read her private blog.

NBC plans to pull those Law & Order episodes with Fred Thompson, as he comes close to announcing his bid for the Republican presidential nomination To avoid running afoul of the government’s equal time provisions for candidates, the network won’t schedule a L&O repeat with Thompson after Sept. 1 if he’s officially a candidate by that time. Cable doesn’t have to play by the same rules, which is lucky, as he’s in 115 episodes.

California Journalists Write–Checks/Who Gave How Much

MSNBC.com names names–of journalists who donated to poltiical campaigns. MSNBC.com checked the Federal Election Commission records from January 2004 through the first quarter of 2007 and attempted to contact each journalist.
