More Changes at WOR; Clear Channel Names Program Director
Now that the talent pool has already been altered at WOR, it’s time to hire someone to oversee the daily operations. The Clear Channel news/talk station has hired Tom Cuddy as program director.
Cuddy, the one-time WPLJ PD, tells Radio Ink, “I’m beyond excited to be joining a News-Talk station that enjoys legendary status in New York. We have amazing plans to grow WOR and make it the hottest spot on the AM dial. WOR has one of the best signals on the east coast.”
There was no room at the inn for GM Jerry Crowley, who turns up in the same capacity at Salem’s WNYM and WMCA, according to Radio Ink.
Crowley had several decades of service at WOR, including 18 years as sales manager.

It was only a matter of time at WOR. It’s the sense of radio insiders that staffers at the venerable news/talk station were on borrowed time since Clear Channel purchased the 710 frequency in August.
Anyone tuning to WOR 710 recently thinking they’re hearing an influx of NBC-related programming would be right!
