  •  Jill Armus is joining O as design director. Armus most recently served as creative director for Everyday with Rachael Ray. Prior to her time there, Arums was creative director at Prevention and Teen People.
  • Bloomberg News has hired Gerry Smith as its media reporter. Smith most recently served as a technology reporter at The Huffington Post. He previously worked as a metro reporter for The Chicago Tribune.

Additions to Every Day with Rachael Ray

Recently appointed Editor-in-Chief Liz Vaccariello has made some key hires to the staff at the Readers Digest Association publication. Jill Armus, who most recently worked alongside Vaccariello at Prevention as the Creative Director, will take on the same position at Every Day with Rachael Ray. Additionally, Vaccariello has tapped Ms. Heddy Sams Pierson as New York Advertising Director. Pierson was previously with Reader’s Digest as Associate Publisher.

Prevention Names New Creative Director

Prevention has named Peter Hemmel to the role of creative director, effective immediately. He is replacing Jill Armus, who left the company

Hemmel previously worked as art director for Glamour magazine and has served as creative director for Life & Style magazine as well as a freelance art director for People magazine.

Hemmel is the recipient of two Folio Ozzie Awards and three Merit Awards from the Society of Publication Designers.
