YES Network Beefs Up Brooklyn Nets Coverage

As the Nets are about the history heading across the Hudson River, the YES Network has hired a new reporter to cover the team.

Sarah Kustok has been named the Brooklyn Nets reporter on YES games. Kustok will be seen within broadcasts and on the pre- and post-game shows.

She’ll also participate in Nets Magazine and other Nets programming on the cable network. In addition, Kustok’s YES duties expand beyond the Barclays Center, to include studio work and from remote locations.

Kustok, a former star basketball player at DePaul University, most recently worked for Comcast SportsNet Chicago, where she was a Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Blackhawks reporter.

“Sarah has proven herself to be extremely versatile throughout her career and has excelled at a wide variety of assignments,” said John Filippelli, president of production and programming at YES.  “Sarah has talent, personality, a love of sports and a quick wit. We have given our viewers yet another reason to tune in to watch the new-look Brooklyn Nets on YES.”

YES Network Televising Arsenal Soccer in HD on Tape Delay

The TV home of the New York Yankees, baseball’s most famous franchise, welcomes another legendary team into the fold.

The YES Network and MP and Silva, the international rights holder for the Arsenal Soccer Club, have agreed to a multi-year deal to broadcast the storied soccer franchise.

The contract allows YES to show Arsenal’s English Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Cup matches in HD.

YES will show the matches on tape delay, with most airing the next day.

“This Arsenal package provides additional depth to our already diverse, Emmy Award-winning lineup,” said John Filippelli, president, production and programming, YES Network.  “It not only makes our programming more attractive to those living in our traditional regional viewing area, but it also enhances the value of our YES national feed available throughout the country.  Those tuning in to our YES national feed will benefit from these Arsenal programs airing in HD throughout our schedule, including when our Yankees and Nets game telecasts are blacked out.”

The first Arsenal match televised by YES will be last Sunday’s Chelsea-Arsenal battle; it will premiere on YES on tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m.

In addition, YES will also televise Arsenal World and Arsenal 360, magazine shows that give fans an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the club and its players, while keeping fans updated on the latest team news.  YES will also air selected classic Arsenal games.
