TheWrap started in 2009 out of Sharon Waxman‘s guest house. Then came an office in Santa Monica, followed by a bigger space in West Los Angeles and an overflow annex a few minutes away for the sales and marketing team.
This weekend, TheWrap will move for a fourth time, to a consolidated Santa Monica space three times the size of its current headquarters. The company recently hired Jordan Chariton away from our sister blog TVNewser to work as a New York-based media reporter. And today, TheWrap announced that long-time Hollywood Reporter staffer Ada Guerin (pictured) has come aboard as creative director (effective immediately). Guerin was with THR for 14 years.
“There are a couple of other announcements that will be coming down the pike [in addition to Guerin] that will change around stuff,” Waxman tells FishbowlNY via telephone, taking a quick break from writing her next column. “On the editorial end, we’re growing both the movie team and the TV team. [Executive editor] Joseph Kapsch has been a really key person in recruiting and building the newsroom.”
