WCBS Prime Time Spending Saturday on WLNY

Ok Judge Judy fans take note!

The popular courtroom show will be preempted Saturday night. Instead, WLNY (TV 10/55) is carrying sister station WCBS/Channel 2′s prime time lineup of Person of Interest, Criminal Minds, and 48 Hours Mystery.

WCBS airs the Jets/Giants preseason matchup at 7 p.m. A one-hour Entertainment Tonight is scheduled to follow the game, ahead of the 11 p.m. newscast anchored by Don Dahler.

Was CBS Reporter Serene Branson Secretly Microwaved?

Good Morning America reporter John Berman had a lot of fun today with crazy speculation being floated around the Internet by conspiracy theorists. Namely, that local CBS 2 reporter Serene Branson‘s infamous live Grammy report flub was the result of a top secret U.S. government microwave brain ray experiment.

These conspiracy theorists think the same subterfuge may have encompassed the “migraine” and “chronic fatigue” problems of others as well. Or, as Berman put it: “It does beg the question, why would the government want to attack a Grammy reporter, a Canadian [Mark McAllister], and Judge Judy? But hey, no one said government conspiracies have to make sense; plus, it might help explain my live flub last week.”

What the Stars Earn–Too Much, Obviously

FBLA gets TV Guide’s press release emails and we usually ignore them. But today, Julie Farin presented us with some truly fabulous information: salaries of the small-screen stars.

Oprah: $260 million per year (includes income from Rachael Ray, Dr. Phil, and other programs)

Simon Cowell: $45 million per year (for American Idol and other projects)

Judge Judy: $30 million per year

Katie Couric: $15 million per year

Zach Braff: $6.3 million (for 18 episodes of Scrubs next season)

Think about that for a momemnt: Braff gets nearly half of what Couric makes, and she has to show up every day.
