Day-Time Drama Plagued by LA Politicians

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was on All My Children yesterday, not working his job, but pretending to do his job in a fake town with not actual moguls, in a fantasy scenario about bringing jobs to LA. Watch the clip here.

City Council President Eric Garcetti was on the soap last week, featured in the clip above. We asked Julie Wong at Garcetti’s office if Garcetti was “doing stuff like the mayor” does that mean he’s going to run for Mayor? “I think it just means that he wanted to be supportive of the production moving to LA (Glassell Park in his Council District to be exact),” Wong tells FBLA. “And bringing 150 new jobs for Angelenos with it (not to mention a boost for local caterers, storage facilities, etc.).”

We wonder if they got paid scale, because that would be technically be taking away a job.

    Eric Garcetti Responds to FBLA

Yesterday we reported that Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti won the “40 Under 40″ award. We questioned the award’s legitimacy wondering if Mr. Garcetti is indeed still under 40. We’ve noted that we’ve never seen his authentic birth certificate. Nor has anyone we know. And we know lots of people.

Anyway, Garcetti’s press secretary Julie Wong, pushing aside important Silver Lake pothole complaints, actually returned our call on this pressing matter. “He’s 38,” she told us. “Proudly, 38.”

Oh yeah? Where’s the proof? “He’ll gladly make it available to you,” she told FBLA.

    Hm. Sounds evasive.
