Media Rushes to Keep Up with Latest Kim Kardashian Nude Spread

In terms of answered SEO prayers, it doesn’t get much better at the midpoint of the first work week of September for scrambling U.S. webmasters than “Kim Kardashian” + “Naked.”

The deliverer of this gift from the traffic gods is British GQ. Their 2014 Woman of the Year does a very good Beyonce impression, both on the cover and inside. Complex raves that the pictures snapped by Tom Munro “may be the sexiest we’ve ever seen.” E! Online suggests “post-baby Kim has still got it.” US Weekly declares “she’s a whole lotta woman.” And HollywoodLife leads with “no need for phone hacking.”

Anna Wintour Musical Returning to Joe’s Pub

BeeShafferRyanRafteryOne-man show Ryan Raftery is the Most Powerful Woman in Fashion is way over the top. Raftery’s drag-version of Anna Wintour gets “chronic constipation” as a result of running that Kimye cover and fearing that she will be fired from Condé Nast by S.I. Newhouse.

After debuting earlier this month at Joe’s Pub, the show is scheduled for a pair of encore Friday late-night shows in early September. As Raftery recently told The Cut‘s Maggie Lange, it all started with a chance encounter:

Raftery has done a solo show a year since 2009 — and the five before this one were all about his personal life. He says that he ran out of material, and instead of “waiting to be kidnapped,” he decided to find some other subject matter.

GQ Interviews Kanye West

GQ went full Kanye for its latest issue. The 37-year-old artist graces the glossy’s cover and was interviewed for an accompanying feature.

In the piece, West is typical West — meaning he says a lot of things that don’t make sense, makes a few comments that are truly insightful, and continues to take himself way too seriously.

Below are some of our favorite quotes from the interview. Try using some at the next party you attend and see how many people politely suggest that you stop drinking.

I’m fighting with the way I line my words up together and the way I place a sweater on top of a T-shirt.

The concept of Kimye has more cultural significance than what Page Six could write.

Even “Bound 2,” when the video came out, I think people’s apprehension—I mean, it’s the same as any other Kanye West video. You just have colorful bears running around. It was completely morphed and weird and psychedelic and really druggy. I would have just liked to have had more nudity in it. That’s the only thing. I just want to do crazy, colorful shit like that that has more nudity.

Annie Leibovitz and Kanye West Have Hugged it Out

annie leibovitz GYou can sleep easier tonight, everyone: Annie Leibovitz and Kanye West have cleared the air. West had ranted about Leibovitz because he was upset that Leibovitz cancelled plans to shoot his wedding, but according to statements from both parties, it was all a misunderstanding.

A rep for Leibovitz said:

Kanye West’s comments about Annie Leibovitz while speaking at the 2014 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival have been taken out of context and sensationalized. She would have loved to have taken their wedding portrait and was disappointed it didn’t happen.

A rep for West said:

Although Kanye expressed frustration that he was not able to collaborate with Annie Leibovitz at his recent wedding, he is not assigning blame, and is not accusing Annie in any way. Unbeknownst to Kanye, she was never confirmed. Kanye and Annie’s representatives were in negotiations for weeks that were not completed by the time of the wedding.

Breathe easy, America.

Kanye West is Upset with Annie Leibovitz

BREAKING: Kanye West is upset. Again. According to Page Six, West’s latest beef is with Annie Leibovitz. West told a crowd at the Cannes Lions Festival that his wedding shot with Kim Kardashian took four days to produce because Leibovitz pulled out of his wedding the day prior to the event.

According to West, Leibovitz dropped out because “She was afraid of celebrity.” Now, this is an odd thing to think — considering all Leibovitz does is work with celebrities — but hey, maybe West was right. Whatever the reason was, we do agree with West that it was a shitty thing for Leibovitz to do.

Kim Kardashian Breastfeeds the Media

FameflynetLogoWho needs The Onion’s ClickHole when BuzzFeed gives you things like this?

Below the headline “Kim Kardashian’s Boobs Take North West For A Walk,” writer Whitney Jefferson has embedded a half-dozen truly jaw-dropping pictures of Kim Kardashian. For a recent walk with her just-turned-one-year-old daughter, Ms. K chose to wear what looks like one of Kanye’s smoking jackets. With next-to-nothing underneath.

The plunging-neckline throw-together fully exposed a large portion of Kardashian’s voluptuous assets. At the end of the BuzzFeed item, Jefferson adds and then enlarges one more snap from Fame Flynet Pictures. That one shows, in a rare moment of conflicted judgment, a photographer seemingly glaring his disapproval in the direction of the sexily dressed mom.

The Daily Mail Breaks Some Anna Wintour News

The chance of a headline typo is certainly maximized at The Daily Mail. So kudos to them for no extra “A’s” in extravaganza.

Per the accompanying text by U.S. showbiz editor-at-large Sara Nathan, the turn-down was reportedly amicable:

A source told MailOnline: “Anna politely declined Kim and Kanye’s kind invitation.”

Condé Nast Sued Over Vogue KimYe Cover Shoot Video

Vogue is certainly getting plenty of headlines out of its Kanye West/Kim Kardashian cover. Even if not all of them are positive. The latest news? The magazine is being sued over a song played during the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot.

According to The New York Daily News, Ricky Spicer — an artist who sued West last year for using his voice without permission on West’s song Bound 2 — is now going after Condé Nast.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Spicer claimed that his voice is heard five times during the Vogue video, which is playing Bound 2. “Mr. Spicer’s voice is used substantially throughout the video, comprising approximately 44 percent of the vocals,” the filing said.

The lawsuit said that Condé didn’t obtain permission to use Spicer’s voice, so he’s suing for unspecified damages.

At least Condé knows that the KimYe issue is selling well. That might help take the sting out of this lawsuit.

Vogue KimYe Cover Selling Well

The April issue of Vogue — featuring Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in what appeared to be a David’s Bridal ad on the cover — is selling quite well. According to The New York Post, the issue is on pace to sell between 300,000 and 400,000 copies.

While those aren’t record-setting numbers, they’re not bad either. For some context, the March 2013 issue of Vogue, with Beyoncé on the cover, sold 355,000 copies. The April issue, with Michelle Obama gracing the front, sold a little under 300,000.

That’s some good company, especially considering all the hate the cover received from various “celebrities,” who should probably check themselves. We’re looking at you, Sarah Michelle Gellar. When your career peaks with a TV show about teenage vampire hunters who call themselves the “Scooby Gang,” you don’t get to make fun of anybody.

The Kim Kardashian Vogue Cover is Here

Like we said — what Kanye West wants, Kanye West gets. After months of pestering Anna Wintour to put his boo Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue, it has finally happened. Of course Kanye being Kanye, he couldn’t resist putting himself on the front too.

Some people might call a reality TV star gracing the cover of Vogue the apocalypse. Others might refer to it as the end of days.

We choose to call this “Oh snap, Kim K one bad bitch.”
