Daytime Emmy Awards: Days of Our Lives Wins Best Drama, George Lucas Nabs First Emmy (THR / The Race Blog)
In a surprise win, Days of Our Lives was named best drama series Sunday night at the 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which aired live from the Beverly Hilton on HLN. CBS’ The Price Is Right won best game show, while Cash Cab host Ben Bailey won best game show host, more than a year after Discovery Channel canceled the long-running taxi-set quiz show. Meanwhile, CBS Sunday Morning beat out NBC’s Today and ABC’s Good Morning America for best morning program honors. TheWrap The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which already won six Creative Arts Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, took home top honors in the daytime talk category, winning the Emmy for outstanding daytime talk show, entertainment. Overall, CBS ruled the night with a total of eight wins, including two Emmys in one category when Scott Clifton of The Bold and the Beautiful and Billy Miller of The Young and the Restless tied for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Elmo Actor Resigns as New Underage Sex Allegations Emerge

Amid new underage sex allegations, Kevin Clash, the voice of Sesame Street’s Elmo, has resigned. Clash had his name effectively cleared last week when Sheldon Stephens recanted his allegations that Clash had underage sexual relations with him. Then just days later, Stephens retracted his recant, claiming that he was pressured into recanting his allegations against Clash.

Now, in court documents obtained by TMZ, a second man — Cecil Singleton — is accusing Clash of engaging in underage sex with him. Singleton claims that the two met in an online chat room, when when he was 15 years old and Clash was 32.

In light of the scandal, Clash has resigned from Sesame Street.

Accuser Recants Sex Allegations Against Elmo Actor

The man who accused Kevin Clash — the actor behind Sesame Street’s Elmo character — of engaging in an underage sexual relationship with him has recanted the claim.

Andreozzi & Associates, a firm that was hired by the accuser, said in a statement that the accuser “wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter.”

Clash has been on a leave of absence from Sesame Street. Representatives for the show stood by him, explaining, “Kevin insists that these allegations are false and defamatory and he has taken actions to protect his reputation. We have granted him a leave of absence to do so.”

Elmo Voice Actor Accused of Sex with Underage Boy

Kevin Clash, the voice of the lovable red Sesame Street character Elmo, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy. Clash — who has taken a leave of absence from the show — denies the allegations, telling TMZ that he did have a relationship with his accuser, but that it only started after the man was an adult.

Reps for Sesame Street have met with the accuser, and are standing by Clash. ”Kevin insists that these allegations are false and defamatory and he has taken actions to protect his reputation,” they said in a statement. “We have granted him a leave of absence to do so.”

The accuser has hired Andreozzi and Associates — the same lawyers used by one of the victims in the Jerry Sandusky case — to represent him. In a letter to Sesame Street, Andreozzi accused the company of “attempting to discredit the victim in order to protect its employee and the image of one of its most valuable characters.”
