Kevin Spacey, Method Actor is Studying Abramoff Behind Bars

kevin_spacey.jpgThis is a really fun bit from Nikki Finke. Awesome:

EXCLUSIVE: My sources tell me that 2-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey and film director George Hickenlooper (Factory Girl, Hearts of Darkness) are right now visiting Washington DC lobbyist Jack Abramoff in Cumberland Federal Prison. Abramoff, of course, was responsible for one of the biggest political scandal to hit the nation’s capital since Watergate, and is the subject of a screenplay Casino Jack starring Spacey and directed by Hickenlooper and written by Norm Snider (Dead Ringers) and produced by Bill Marks, George Vitetzakis and exec-produced by Donald Zuckerman and Richard Rionda of Hannibal Pictures. A portion of the project is being financed by Brad Feinstein of Titan Multi Media Group in a deal being negotiated by Paradigm. The story is described to me as a modern day GoodFellas set in Washington DC that plays like a thriller involving Karl Rove and others in former President George W. Bush‘s inner circle. Cameras will roll later next month.

I’m told that Kevin Spacey is set to star as Jack Abramoff,

Comic Con – The Land of Wanders

comiccon01.gif You may have noticed that we are posting after midnight. Well, it took us a good 6 hours to drive from LA to San Diego. Why? Did we come via Yosemite National Forrest?! Nope. Just stuck on the 5. And when we finally arrived at 4pm after missing our appointment Robert Englund of Freddy Kruger fame – two colleagues in a row said,”That’s why I took the train.”

Who else took the train? There was a Kevin Spacey sighting. Who was on the 5? Everyone else in the world.

Anyway, we are posting this after midnight because there is no filing room. We were directed to an outlet in the hallway for all our computing needs. We promise to never bitch about the burnt gratis coffee in normal press rooms again.

Music, Music, Music/PBS Series, Blue Suede Shoes, Ol’ Blue Eyes and More

Sinatra+Stamp.jpg

PBS is developing an sure-fire pledge-break money spinning series–On Record: The Soundtrack of Our Lives, an eight-hour series tracing the history of recorded music and its impact on popular culture, (or at least on Baby Boomers, PBS’s target audience.) Series should air in 2010. Legendary Beatles producer George Martin hosts, and Kevin Spacey, who once played Bobby Darrin, is the narrator.

Fastlane Entertainment has signed a deal for the life story of Carl Perkins. Paul McCartney is on-board as well.

Frank Sinatra will be saluted in May via music, movies and the U.S. Postal Service in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of his death. Reprise Records releases Nothing But the Best, Turner Classics will air Sinatra’s films, and the Post Office issues a commemorative stamp.

And Sunday’s Grammys line-up includes a number of one of a kind duets and trios including the just announced Cornerstone of Rock performance by John Fogerty, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard, as well as Alicia Keys and a holographic Frank Sinatra.

Kevin Spacey NOT Finished With Acting, At Least for Now

Superman_Returns - 5 - Kevin_Spacey.jpg

Kevin Spacey tells Anne Thompson that he’s not retiring from films, no way, never said that, and that with 8 years on his 10 year Old Vic contract left to run, he’s still going to reprise his role as Lex Luthor in Superman XVIIMCX or whatever number it is.

Was it really only a month ago that he said

I don’t care about my personal acting career anymore. I’m done with it. After 10 years of making movies and going better than I ever could have imagined, I sort of had to ask myself, “What am I supposed to do with all of this success that I have had?”

Or was that just one of those internet rumors?

4. Where do you get your car washed?
