Time Goes with Five Covers for Annual ‘Time 100′ Issue

If you ask us, Time only needed one cover for its annual Time 100 issue, which lists the 100 most influential people in the world. Instead, the glossy published five U.S. covers, along with two international ones. The one person we would’ve picked? Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year-old Pakistani girl who stood up for women’s rights, despite being hunted by the Taliban. This is just a hunch, but we think she might be more influential than Jennifer Lawrence.

Lena Dunham Wages War with Gawker

Despite what most would think, Lena Dunham is not a fan of Gawker. In fact, she had her lawyer contact the site after Gawker published her book proposal, which fetched her a cool $3.7 million. Gawker did take down the proposal, but that wasn’t enough for Dunham.

There are still 12 lines from the proposal up on the original Gawker post, but they’re all followed by some nice legalese and fantastic summaries of what Dunham meant in the quoted line. Here’s an example:

Suicide Derails Annie Leibovitz Shoot

A photoshoot for Vanity Fair featuring Lena Dunham was delayed after a man jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge and plummeted to his death. The man, according to The New York Post, jumped after hanging onto one of the bridge’s towers for about 40 minutes. He landed on the River Cafe, which was closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy.

Annie Leibovitz was scheduled to take photos of Dunham near the restaurant, but had to put the session on pause while police cleared the scene and completed their investigation.

Sources told the Post that Leibovitz and her team “respectfully waited” for the cops to finish, as if that was a surprising way to deal with the situation. The shoot was completed several hours later.
