Bonnier’s Parenting Group Names Brand Content Director

Ana Connery has been named brand content director of Bonnier Corp.’s Parenting Group, which publishes Parenting.com, Parenting and Babytalk. Connery was most recently editorial director for Parenting and Babytalk, a position she held since 2010.

“As the Parenting brand continues to innovate both digitally and in print in response to the needs of modern families, it is with sincere enthusiasm that I announce this new role for Ana,” said Mark Wildman, vice president and group publisher of the Parenting Group. “Her ideas and leadership have firmly established The Parenting Group’s print products as must-reads, and I am confident that she and our team of editors will elevate Parenting.com and its social media extensions to equal levels of visibility.”

Bonnier’s Parenting Group Promotes Two

Bonnier Corp.’s The Parenting Group, has promoted Amy Lloyd and Jacie Brandes from National Ad Sales Directors to Associate Publishers of Sales. Llyod has been with The Parenting Group for nine years, Brandes for 10.

“It is with great excitement that I announce these new roles for Amy and Jacie,” said Vice President, Group Publisher, Mark Wildman. ”The Parenting brand has enjoyed significant momentum across digital, print, and its social media channels because of our content tailored to the lifestyles of millennial families, and I am extremely confident that Amy and Jacie’s leadership will only fuel that momentum further.”

Both Lloyd and Brandes will report to Wildman.

Staff Promotions at Parenting

Parenting Group announced the promotion of two executives on its digital content development team.  Sasha Emmons, a member of the Parenting.com editorial team since 2009 has been promoted to executive editor and Jennifer Allen Kay, who joined as deputy editor in 2010, will take on the role of director, audience development.

Emmons and Kay had been appointed co-deputy editors in 2011, and will continue to oversee the strategic growth and content development for the site. Emmons will manage the site’s editorial team, and will be responsible for developing content for its articles, blogs and newsletters. Kay will focus her efforts on traffic growth, social media expansion and developing The Parenting Group’s major digital partnerships, including recently-announced alliances with Google and AOL. Both will report directly to Mark Wildman, vice president, group publisher of The Parenting Group.

AOL Joins Forces with Bonnier’s Parenting Group

AOL and Bonnier’s Parenting Group are teaming up. For AOL, the partnership means Bonnier’s family-centric editorial content from Parenting.com will be shared with AOL.com, HufPo Parents and the AOL Family channel.

“Moms are a very important part of the AOL community, and the Parenting.com brand brings a wealth of credibility, authority and expertise on the issues that matter most to today’s modern families,” said Ned Brody, Chief Revenue Officer at AOL.

Bonnier, meanwhile, will get access to AOL’s digital advertising services, allowing both companies to expand ads that are targeted toward moms. Mark Wildman, Vice President and Group Publisher of Bonnier’s Parenting Group, explained, “This alliance gives us the opportunity to tap into a completely new segment of advertisers targeting moms online, while working with a best-in-class partner to grow our brand and the types of digital programs that we can offer to our marketing partners.”

Bonnier Corp.’s Parenting Group Names New Associate Publisher, Marketing

The Parenting Group, the publishing division of Bonnier Corp. responsible for ParentingBabytalk and Parenting.com, has named Heather Gumbley as its new Associate Publisher, Marketing. Gumbley was most recently Executive Director of Creative Services for the Fairchild Fashion Group at Conde Nast.

At Bonnier Gumbley will be tasked with increasing marketing efforts for The Parenting Group’s brands. Mark Wildman, Vice President and Group Publisher, said she’s well-equipped to handle that job.

“With her strong integrated marketing background and extensive experience with fashion and retail advertisers, Heather has the perfect blend of media and client expertise to help Parenting become the leading media brand serving today’s modern families,” explained Wildman.

Greg Schumann Named Southern Living Publisher

On the heels of our announcement that Mark Wildman was named Group Publisher of Bonnier Parenting Group today, minOnline announced that Greg Schumann, who Wildman is replacing at The Parenting Group, was named Southern Living publisher today by Time Inc. Executive Vice President Evelyn Webster.

Schumann has been Group Publisher for the Parenting Group since 2007. His new position at Southern Living will be a return to Time Inc. for Schumann, who left the company in 2007 with The Parenting Group’s sale to Bonnier Corp.

Mark Wildman Named Head of Bonnier Parenting Group

Bonnier has named Mark Wildman its new Vice President, Group Publisher for its Parenting Group. Wildman has been with Bonnier since 2009 as its head of sales and marketing.

In his new position, Wildman will oversee one of Bonnier’s top properties, which includes the Parenting titles (Early Years, School Years and Parenting.com) and several other brands.

Bonnier Corporation’s CEO Terry Snow says that Wildman’s sales background will serve him well:

Former Reader’s Digest VP Wildman Joins Bonnier

wildman headshot.jpgMark Wildman is leaving Reader’s Digest to join magazine publisher Bonnier Corp. as senior vice president of corporate sales and marketing. Wildman was most recently vice president of integrated marketing at Reader’s Digest Association, but his replacement, Maureen Polo, was announced last week. He will start at Bonnier on November 6.

While at RDA, Wildman worked to establish the integrated sales and marketing group for the company’s Food & Entertaining Affinity. Before joining Reader’s Digest in 2007, Wildman worked as executive director at Conde Nast Media Group.

“Bonnier is a strong, forward-thinking organization with more than 50 consumer media brands like Saveur, Popular Science, Field & Stream and Parenting,” Wildman said. “As consumers continue their shift toward real and meaningful, the Bonnier brands are very well-positioned, delivering specific well-defined audiences which are highly engaged and emotionally invested in the content.”

Reader’s Digest Names New Integrated Sales VP

maureenpic.JPG Reader’s Digest Association is making good on its promise of major restructuring after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.

Despite layoffs late last month, today the news is good at the Reader’s Digest publisher, with Maureen Polo announced as the new VP of Integrated Sales and Marketing for the company’s U.S. Affinities, replacing Mark Wildman as of November 9.

Before joining RDA in 2007, Polo worked in sales for Condé Nast Media Group, Domino and Self, and she started her career at This Old House.

Polo will be working in RDA’s recently created U.S. Affinities division, led by Suzanne Grimes, which combined the company’s Food & Entertaining group with a Home & Garden affinity last month.
