Deaf Rapper Mambos with Marlee Matlin

Yesterday, Detroit area rapper Sean Forbes was at West Hollywood’s House of Blues to debut his new video “Let’s Mambo,” as part of a Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD) benefit. The video is fully subtitled, fully signed, and features not one but two almost entirely hearing impaired leads: Forbes and Oscar winning Celebrity Apprentice Marlee Matlin.

This very slick production is destined to go viral:

Trump Gets Roasted, But ‘The Situation’ Gets Burned

The Hammerstein Ballroom was packed to the brim with wannabes, has-beens and the occasional celebrity last night, as Comedy Central taped its roast of Donald Trump.

The roast, which will air next Tuesday, saw a lineup of comedians like Lisa Lampanelli and Jeff Ross, join some celebrity roasters like Marlee Matlin, Larry King and Snoop Dogg to mock one another and Trump himself.

Also in attendance: Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, but more on him later.

Trump, who made (and lost) billions in real estate and casinos, and is said to be considering a Republican presidential run, spent much of the night in a chair in the middle of the stage, glowering, as his daughter Ivanka and wife Melania watched from the audience. FishbowlNY also spotted John Legend, Ice-T, Norah Jones and Russell Simmons in the crowd.

Betsy Sharkey Becomes LAT Film Critic

thecrticddd.jpg Former entertainment editor Betsy Sharkey has a new post at the LA Times as film critic.

*Spoiler Alert*

Sharkey got into hot ‘Sex and the City Fan‘ water in June when she mentioned some plot point about Mr. Good Bar or something.

From LAT:

To the idea of adding a few words of warning for those who might not want to read further because they haven’t yet seen the movie, said Sharkey, “Two weeks into the run of a film, I’m just not sure it makes sense — where do we draw the line — three weeks out? When it goes into DVD release?”

Spoiler alert: Don’t read articles about movies you haven’t seen and want to be surprised by. That’s why you READ about films…to be informed.

Our congratulations to Miss Sharkey on the move.

The entire press release about the move is after the break.

FBLA 20 Questions: Cathleen Cotter

n516886179_120296_4890.jpg

Sr. Editor at PR Newswire, Cathleen Cotter, fancies herself as an Arthurian enchantress. And we can see why. She did answer our insidiously insightful questions without the use of ancient magicks.

1. What newspapers do you read? L.A. Times on weekends, the Argonaut (local paper), LA Weekly, City Beat (otherwise I get my news online)

2. Which ones do you move your lips to while reading? none, but I do enjoy reading the paper while out with my friends for breakfast on the weekend and we read interesting bits to each other.

3. Which Web sites (besides FBLA) are on your favorites bookmark? I don’t really use bookmarks. The tabs on my Firefox browser are set to Flickr, Gmail, CNN, LA Observed and Curbed L.A.

4. Where do you get your car washed? This place on Lincoln, north of Washington Blvd.

5. Do you know your dentist’s first name? Yes–Marilyn

FishbowlNY @ Fashion Week: Media Models Ripa, Ray, Zahn Take To Runway

Ray5.jpgIn case this whole media thing doesn’t work out: Rachael Ray [left] prayed, Paula Zahn swanned, and Kelly Ripa clomped to the beat like any good super worth her $10,000 to wake up that day. While we didn’t get a good gander of First Lady Laura Bush, who was front-row and center for pet charity The Heart Truth’s fashion show Friday morning, we did catch some media misses hitting the runway to support heart health for women.
