Jets, SNY Rev Up the Engines for 2012 Season

The NFL season kicked off with the Giants falling to the Cowboys. Next up, the New York Jets unwrapping the 2012 season Sunday.

SNY plans another season of comprehensive Jets coverage. The “All-Access pass” includes SNY’s Jets Post Game Live debuting after Sunday’s opener against the Bills. Jets Post Game Live will continue to feature priority locker room access with Coach Rex Ryan’s closed-door address to the team, post game press conferences, exclusive on-field interviews and reactions from key Jets players.

On-air talent will include former Jets stars Joe Klecko, Kris Jenkins, Ray Lucas as well as NFL Insider Adam Schein, Jets reporter Jeané Coakley and host Brian Custer.

That only scratches the surface for all things Gang Green.

Big Brother Most Watched Prime Time Program in New York Despite Airing on WLNY

The management of WLNY is heading into the holiday weekend on cloud nine. It’s the upshot of an unusual event last night. WLNY-TV 10/55 had the highest rated prime time show in New York. WLNY aired the Channel 2 prime time lineup because the Jets preseason game was broadcast on sister station WCBS.

Big Brother gave WLNY the one night of ratings glory, tops among adults 25 to 54 (2.1/5) and adults 18-49 (2.0/6).

“It’s extremely gratifying to be able to shift CBS prime time over to WLNY for one night and not skip a beat,” WCBS president and general manager, Peter Dunn, says. ”Prior to our acquisition of WLNY [in April], we would move CBS prime time programming to late night whenever we had a Jets preseason game… It’s a big win for our viewers across the tri-state area.”

Last night’s episode of Big Brother on WLNY retained 100 percent of the Thursday average on WCBS this summer among adults 25 to 54.

The Jets vs. Eagles was the second-highest rated program for the night (1.6 rating in adults 25-54). WCBS sports anchor Otis Livingston was the sideline reporter.

WCBS-TV Rides Wave of Jets Playoff Run With Road to Glory

As the New York Jets make their way to Pittsburgh for this weekend’s AFC Championship game, WCBS-TV is right there with them.

Sports anchor Otis Livingston, traveling with the team, hosts Jets Road to Glory Saturday night at 7.

The one-hour special gives fans a preview of the matchup between the Steelers and Jets.

“The Jets run means we as a sports department get to shine as well with extra programming,” Livingston tells FishbowlNY. “Working with my producers, Joe Benigno, Damien Woody, Wesley Walker, and all the editors gives us a chance to give extra insight and bonus coverage on one of the biggest stories in New York City in recent years.”

Jets-Colts Nailbiter Headlines NBC’s Record Breaking Wild Card Saturday

Although the 17-16 final may have been a low-scoring one for two high-powered offenses like the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts, the ratings for their Saturday night wild card showdown were off the charts. NBC’s broadcast of the one-point Jet victory scored a 20.8 overnight rating and a 33 share, marking the best ever number for a primetime wild card Saturday matchup. This weekend’s Jets-Colts classic was up six percent over last season’s primetime Saturday game between the Eagles and Cowboys (19.6/33) and represented a 14 percent increase over 2009’s Colts-Chargers wild card matchup.
