Taking a Lunch Break… Instead, Here’s a Shot of Miley Cyrus (Gasp!) Tastefully Dressed

Lunch At Michaels

Our intrepid Lunch columnist Diane Clehane won’t be covering the scene at Michael’s today because she was up until the wee hours last night as one of the producers of The Fashion Group International’s 30th Annual Night of Stars event.

Diane was on full diva duty, wrangling Miley Cyrus (who came fully dressed and didn’t twerk once!) and Aretha Franklin and running the red carpet, where she witnessed Superstar Award honoree Marc Jacobs trading air kisses with Sofia Coppola, Olivia Munn and Kate Upton. After all that hobnobbing, we figured she could use a day off.

But, no worries, she’ll be back at her regular perch next week. In the meantime, here are some recent Lunch columns (and photos of Marc and Miley after the jump).

Mr. Skin Goes Meta with Californication Kudo

Yes, we know – the Top 10 Celebrity Nude Scenes of 2012 announced this week by the Chicago connoisseurs who run mrskin.com is not typically the kind of thing we cover at FishbowlLA. But #9 on this year’s list was too meta to pass up.

The scene in question, from Californication episode “At the Movies,” is all about an attractive Hollywood actress (Sarah Power) well aware that she has been hired because of her willingness to show her breasts in a movie. What makes the scene doubly meta is that when she nervously flashes her upper-body assets to screenwriter Hank (David Duchovny) in his trailer ahead of her nude scene, he ends his praise with: “… and nab yourself a Mr. Skin Award in the bargain.”

G4 Canceling Attack of the Show!, X-Play

It’s the end of an era over at G4 as the video game network is canceling Attack of the Show! and X-Play at the end of the year.

Attack of the Show has been on since 2005 and is best known for making hot nerd Olivia Munn a household name. X-Play is approaching 10 years as the show originally launched on TechTV. Both shows will be bringing back former hosts over the final two months.

“‘Attack of the Show!’ and “X-Play” have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture,” G4 Media general manager Adam Stotsky said in a statement. “With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close.”

Bar Refaeli Tops Annual Maxim Hot 100 List

According to Maxim readers, Bar Refaeli is the most beauftul woman in the world. The latest Maxim Hot 100 List — available on newsstands May 29 — was picked by the magazine’s fans. Refaeli beat out Olivia MunnMila KunisKaty Perry and Olivia Wilde for the top spot.

Refaeli told Maxim that she was “truly honored” to have won, but she might want to reconsider that statement. She did beat out those lovely ladies mentioned above, which is great. But a cartoon, Stephen Colbert and Amanda Knox — yes, the woman who maybe murdered her friend — also made the Hot 100 List, so Refaeli should probably take the honor with a grain of salt.

Maxim’s editors, however, were excited that readers chose Refaeli. She “puts the ‘promise’ in the Promised Land,” they explained. We have no idea what that means, but it sounds like a compliment.
